Last autumn we went to the sleepy settlement of Tahlee (an hour north of newcastle) for a weekend. One of the best parts being this weathered pier. As beautiful as it was, it was far too cold for me to jump inside that day, only a few brave souls ventured in. I looked on and speculated as to the origin of the blob.
Supposedly the wettest year in Australia since '74, this summer hasn't exactly delivered the season clichés. That's ok with me. The best season starts tomorrow. I will miss endless afternoons perfect for bike riding and the likes.
Ok, for a blog about Newcastle finds, this post is somewhat unrelated. But these rug installations by Loomare just so good. Take note of those wonderfully crumbled concrete walls and stay tuned for my attempts to contextualise them.
Despite aspiring to live in a white walled abode, every now and then i get a little nostalgic for the 'feature walls' in our first house. I use the word feature lightly because I suspect that they actually camoflaged a miriad of issues. For the 6 months they were ours, they provided a great background for white chalk drawings and made our sheets look clean all the time.
